The Bob Uzzeman Cat

Introduction
The Bob Uzzeman Cat, commonly known as the Buzzle, is a colorful rainforest native. It ranges in size from 4.5 to 5 feet long, and stands anywhere from 3 to 4 feet tall at the shoulder. The Buzzle has distinctively frilled ears, a short tuffed tail, and small feathered wings. Buzzles can occationally be found on the forest floor, but spend the majority of their lives in the tree tops, where they are excellent climbers and jumpers. It is generally thought that their wings are too small for actual flight, but it has been confirmed that they can use their wings to glide from tree to tree. Local native legends report the cats capable of human speach and conversation. These legends are unconfirmed by scientific research. They have, however, been found to make exceptionaly affectionate and loyal pets, and many Buzzle owners are convinced their pets can understand what they say.

History
The Bob Uzzeman Cat was first discovered by research and explorer Robert Uzzeman. Uzzeman first considered the cats to be many different species of cat, due to the wide variety of coat colors and patterns, but later discovered that they were in fact all the same species. Uzzeman named the species after himself. A common misconception is that the "Bob" in the species name refers to the short tails the cats sport. In actual fact, "Bob" refers to the first name of discoverer Bob Uzzeman.

Breeding
Due to their warm climate of origin, Buzzles breed year round. A mother Buzzle will generally have only one cub at a time, although twins are not unheard of. The cubs start out a solid grey color with black spots, and white wings. Their eyes are baby blue. The cubs grow rapidly, and soon attain their adult coloring. Both parents help in the raising the young. In captivity, Buzzles breeding is carefully controlled by the Buzzle Adoption Committee. The Buzzle Adoption Committee will announce to Buzzle owners when breeding slots are available, and will then oversee the introduction of the Buzzle pair and subsequent birth of the cub(s).

Buzzle Adoption
After their discovery, Buzzles were quickly found to make excellent pets, due to their sweet and loving nature. In the early years, this popularity lead to an alarming decrease in the wild population of Buzzles, as many individuals were being captured for the pet market. Recognizing the danger to the species as a wild animal, local goverments passed strict laws regarding the capture of Buzzles as pets. Their export from the wild is now strictly controlled by the Buzzle Adoption Committee, headed by Silvanon Silverhorn. As Buzzle populations allow, Buzzle cubs and adults are selected for adoption as pets.

Buzzles are adopted out at PonyIsland.
